What is viral marketing anyway? This is a marketing medium that uses social networks for promoting products. The goal for this is to increase sales and expose your brand to as many people as possible.

There are many marketing strategies out there which are actually a form of viral marketing. Below are just some of the examples that you may have encountered over the course of your online browsing:

1. Flash games – While spending time online, you may have come in contact with flash games. These are games that are made with the inclusion of various marketing ads. Often, it even has some marketing elements in within the game itself.

2. Ebooks – This is another viral marketing tool that is slowly becoming responsible for huge sales and lots of traffic. You see, with the use of ebooks for marketing, people can better understand the products that you are offering. This way, when the people who download or read the ebooks like what you are offering, they will eventually buy from you.

3. Videos – It doesn’t matter whether this is a YouTube video or just a video that you post in your site or blog. What matters is that it carefully explains why people should buy the products that you have.

Businesses tell the customers that within a certain period of time, they will refund the money paid if the customer didn’t get what was promised. Now, this is a good deal, but the question is, it is worth it? So, better check first the reputation of the company before you agree to anything.

2. Make quizzes or contests – Another strategy that businesses use is running contests. This way, the winner will get a prize. But, it will generate some huge sales and traffic for the business when people participate. Just make sure that the price is attractive enough for the customers to participate.

3. Help people out – The main reason why people buy things online is because they feel that it will benefit them. What you should do is to constantly challenge them to try out the products that you are offering and guarantee results. But, be careful since most users tend to scrutinize products and if you can’t deliver on your promise, you can expect a lot of bad reviews.

Viral marketing is a very important marketing tool. So use it carefully and you will reap the results of all your efforts.
